New Activites for September!Tri Golf - Ages 5 - 8 and 8 - 11yrs Tri-Golf is an adapted form of golf equipment, designed by the Golf Foundation, to introduce primary school aged children to golf in a fun and safe way. The equipment can be used indoors and outdoors where the emphasis is on having fun and playing games rather than technique (see website www.golf-foundation.org for more details on the equipment). Golf Xtreme – Ages 11 - 14yrs Golf Xtreme is an activity for children of secondary school age and is also ideal for those not catered for by traditional team sports. The adapted equipment is safe, using short flight, light golf balls and games which are easy to deliver and fun. Together with the games and activities it is ideal for use in a school hall, leisure facility, all-weather area or sports field. Click here for more information Sports Academy Programme3 mths - 16 years of ageCrecheThe Stour Centre operates an Ofsted registered Crèche facility where children between the age of 3 months and 5 years can spend up to 2 hours per session. This provides a great opportunity for parents to enjoy any of the facilities at the centre, safe in the knowledge that their children are being looked after by qualified and friendly staff. Ages: 3 months to 5 years Times: 0915-1115 and 1115-1315 Days: Monday to Friday TumbletimeA fun session that includes the bouncy castle, balls, hoops, bikes, trikes and climbing frames. Trampolines are also available for the over 2’s on specific days. Parents are expected to supervise their children, but supervisors are in attendance for safety reasons. Ages: Crawling – 5 years Times: 0930-1130 Days: Wednesday Days: Friday & Saturday Pay as you go session Gyminis An introduction to gymnastics including basic floor skills, vaults, beams, and bars. This session promotes balance, mobility, and social skills, working towards British Gymnastics’ Fundamentals Award Scheme. Parents are expected to support their children therefore only two children per adult are permitted. Ages: 2-5 years Times: 0920-1000 and 1000-1040 Days: Thursday TrampoliningAn introduction to the basics of trampolining working towards British Gymnastics’ Trampolining Award Scheme. Parents are expected to stay with their child during these sessions. Ages: 2-5 years Times: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Days: 1330-1430 Download the under 5's brochure here Junior TrampoliningThis is an enrolled course. Children will learn the basic bounces and develop these into more complex moves, twists and somersaults as they progress through the British Gymnastics’ Trampolining Award badge scheme. Ages: 5-16 yrs Times: 1600-1700 and 1700-1800 1630-1730 and 1730-1830 Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday Thursday Junior GymnasticsThis is an enrolled course. Children will progress through the British Amateur Gymnastics Association (BAGA) award scheme. Beginners start with basic gymnastics and movement skills which are developed into more complex tumbling movements, beam, and mat work. Ages: 5-16 yrs. Times: 1600-1700, 1700-1800 and Academy 1800-1900 Days: Wednesday Saturday BounceThis is a casual session. A fun supervised trampoline session which allows boys and girls of all abilities to join in a morning of trampolining. Ages: 5-16yrs Times: 1000-1200 Days: Saturday Pay as you go BadmintonThe classes are all taught by experienced staff and are progressively structured to allow children to advance and improve at their own rate. The programme offers children a positive and exciting introduction to the game, and the use of modified equipment allows success to be achieved across a range of badminton skills. The classes aim to develop basic hand and eye co-ordination while generic skills such as running, throwing, catching and hitting are also developed and applied to a badminton context.
